Initial Individual Session
Hands-On Feldenkrais Session
Service Description
A Feldenkrais Session, called a Functional Integration Lesson, is the hands-on approach of the Feldenkrais Method. Your first Feldenkrais session is an opportunity to explore how your body moves and uncover patterns that may be contributing to discomfort or limiting your mobility. During this 75-minute session, we’ll begin with a detailed assessment that includes: Gait and Postural Analysis: I will observe how you stand, sit, and walk to identify areas of ease and tension in your body. This will help us understand your movement habits and how they may be affecting your overall comfort and efficiency. Exploration of Movement Patterns: Through gentle, guided movements, we’ll start to uncover areas that move well and others that feel restricted or overworked. This part of the session is about building awareness of how your body is organized and discovering options for more comfortable movement. Hands-On Guidance: Using gentle touch, I will guide certain areas of your body to help you experience new ways of moving. This can help release tension, improve coordination, and build a sense of ease. Personalized Feedback and Practice: I’ll share insights into what we discover, and you’ll leave with a better understanding of how you move and how to begin improving. Depending on your goals, I may provide simple exercises or strategies to practice between sessions. Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive an email with additional information about your session. After your assessment is completed, you have several options for continuing your study. Some people may choose to join mobility classes, others may prefer to continue on their own using mobility audio recordings, and you may also opt for a series of in-person Feldenkrais lessons.
